Dear kind reader,

I was able to collect US$362.40 (around Php 17,000) over Paypal, from readers abroad who want to help out here but don't know where to send money.

Paypal donations for typhoon

I had to think about how to put the money to good use. From what I heard, foreign aid has already arrived, including two containers of noodles. Also heard that the refugees are sawa (tired) of noodles. Rice doesn't make sense to me as that has to be cooked and I don't think the victims have the facility. Same with canned goods. I keep imagining them cursing, looking for that person who last used the can opener.

No more noodles!

Heard that the refugees want to eat hot meals—not biscuits—and John-D Borra, who's manning the Megatent relief operations said Enderun students have been working double time cooking hot meals from donations. Good job!

I know everyone has kind of the same idea and buying the same stuff. There is so much food going around, so I decided to buy disposable underwear at Watson's for both men and women. I'm sure this would comfort some of people who really want a change of clothes. All in all I bought 670++ pairs of underwear which cost Php 6118.25.

Some of the loot is here

Also heard there are 300 refugees per portalet. The suffering.

Php 5,000 will go to Miguel Asuela, the man who lost his entire family during the storm. I have given the money to Dr. Quimbo who regularly visits his hometown Marikina to drop off relief goods. He said the people are in the process of cleaning up and moving in and are in need of plastic pails, banig and rubber slippers. I'll buy slippers with the balance of Php 5881.
If you would like to donate to the slipper and pail fund, please click here.

John-D is requesting for donations of sterile gauze, microtape, cotton balls, Betadine, Trosyd, cotton buds, and latex gloves. They also need volunteers to come now and pack relief packages at Megatent at 30 Meralco Avenue, right next to Renaissance Condominium.

John-D said water donations are always good.
Off topic: I saw the cutest water bottle at Megatent. Isn't this sweet?

The water bottle really does look innovative. It doesn't have a cap? Is it hard or soft plastic? Will try to look for this at SM next time.

ThankS God Pepeng steered away...
