Death to Twitter, love to Nokia

Just like Marc Jacobs, I joined Twitter, lasted a few days, then I left.
I used to have a Facebook, but it wasn't for me either.

facebook-death

Marc said, "None of my Facebook pages are real, all are fake. I used to have MySpace but I took it down.” (On The Radar)
I went on Twitter because not too long ago, I was given a Nokia E63 to review with an angle on its blogging features. Since I can't make a blog entry using the phone, the logical thing was to try Twitter, where you express your thoughts in 140 characters or less.
I thought Twitter was the next big thing because it was on the cover of Time. But it really isn't for me.
I think it works better for people who have the Twitter app on their iPhones.

The Nokia E63, however, is lovely.
In my review I noted its lightweight body, the fact that I can put a string on it and hang it around my neck so I don't lose it.
Me

It takes pictures and video, stores music and all that. Since I don't read manuals I have yet to discover its other features.
I love the magical sound it makes when I get a text message, and I find it amusing that it can speak out the name of the caller and the message too.
You can go online, surf or check your email by wifi, MyGlobe, or whatever service provider you're using, though loading can be slow.
I especially love the QWERTY keyboard.

Surfing and emailing comes easy via Nokia E63

The QWERTY feature allows me—formerly a predictive texter—to shift from Tagalog to English, no problem.
The E63 is Nokia's answer to Blackberry without the price tag. And at Php 14,200, you can't go wrong.

the price is irresistible!

ps. you are nearing your 4M mark!

i know! i am waiting for the prizes to arrive!!

I bet this will be more exciting than the 3M giveaway.. can't wait!

Make or Break

wow! thats a good price for all that features. Thanks for the review. Now if I can have my dad get it for me since its going to take forever before it gets to the US.

i'll check this out. might finally be able to replace my handphone of 3 years, a D&G v3i razr. it's so hard to part with the gold, even if the phone itself is having massive organ failure already. haha!

i take your recommendations as they are seriously fun. =)

i'm confused on buying this or the e71..

Love it too! A friend of mine has one and I just fell in love with it... The red one is so dreamy!

I have the E71x. I like it a lot.

i have its bigger bro.. the nokia e71.. i got specially for internet browsing/facebook/twitter/ym/email and what have you..

since am also using globe's visibility as my data plan, i no longer need to bring my laptop around just to check emails and follow-up on clients. all my schedules, contacts are there and sync-up perfectly with ical, addressbook on my mac.

and if i do have my laptop, i can hook up the e71 as a modem for surfing as well.

perfect phone for me now.

until e72 :P

So E71 is better then? How do activate the mobile web anyway? I'm getting one soon, and I'm trying hard to find how to activate some if it's feature without even laying hands on the actual phone. LOL. But soon!(Thank you Lord. :P)

both e63 and e71 are basically the same except for some key features.. you can do a comparo over at the nokia website and see which one works for you best..

the internet function is fairly easy to use.. you should get the settings from globe/smart/sun etc and then setup your email client (yahoo/gmail etc) according to their settings (check their websites)

Have had mine for three months. Absolutely love it and think the only phone out there that beats it is the E71.

I think Nokia would be better than blackberry, considering it has no scroll, I had a friend who has a blackberry and the scroll is not working anymore..his phone would alarm very minute or so and e have no idea how he can turn it off.LOL

As for twitter, it's good site for marketing, specially if you a new site and have like millions of followers, chances are when you tweet something a follower will click it. It's not for me too, I love blogging, that's my platform and nothing else, but hey I tweeted when I started following you. LOL

Make or Break

i so inlove with this phone...

i dont even know why i'm there.

Hi Chuva!!!
First of all, i'm so glad you did this post because I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Nokia E63, which does everything the E71 does, but is much cheaper. Like okay the E71 has 3.5mxp whereas E63 has 2mxp camera. E71 has GPS but E63 doesnt. The camera in the E63 works way just fine for me. And the GPS is unecessary if you download the new Google for Nokia app which includes Google Maps which is way accurate and uses data received from control towers.

Additionally, I dont blog on my phone, but I have the free "TWIBBLE" application on as a shortcut on my main desktop page. "TWIBBLE" allows you to do quick and easy tweets including do tweets with picture attachments using TWITPIC. I also have a link to M.Facebook.com on my Desktop. As well as the free "FRING" app, which allows you to call or chat with all your contacts on GTALK, MSN, YAHOO MESSENGER, and SKYPE. The best part about the E63 is the Seemless Webbrowsing. I'm on an unlimited internet plan with 100 mb download a day through HK's Smartone-Vodafone. OH! And I now get push email, by downloading the free App from email.nokia.com. It's Nokia's Push email service free with any webmail or Microsoft Exchange service. And can hold more than one account.

WHEW!

No Nokia didnt pay me or give me a free phone to post this comment. I JUST ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY NOKIA E63 and laugh at others who dont have it... or have the other lame ass phone... iPhone which totally sucks.

Anyway thats all!
For reference check out my tweet page--

I use my nokia phone to tweet and take pictures for my Twitter.

xoxo JJ

Wow your comment has a whole lotta Nokia love! :) I work for Nokia and it's refreshing to see someone enthusiastic about our devices AND services.

BTW watch out for the new Nokia Maps version that kicks Google's a** in the next few months :) no need to download the Google app when Nokia Maps is already pre-installed in the phone.

Nokia Messaging can hold more than 10 email accts (work & personal) btw.

ooh the techie in me just screamed for joy.. but the ovi maps is actually doing pretty good right now. locks so much faster than that Nokia Maps that they tried to suck us into. That thing was painful to use.

oh and since you work for nokia, would it be possible to pass on the message to show US s60 users some love. they tend to leave us out when they do things, *cough-firmware update-cough*.

I just love it! I specifically bought it because of the red one, which I got on my birthday last February. I love texting on this phone. Nokia is the best!

Twitter helps me find interesting things to write about for clients' blogs :)

I was thinking of getting the LG KT610 ("Blair" phone)but its too high for me, A classmate of mine has an E72 but price is waaaay too much for me (~Php 19,000++) To those who have this, is the camera quality good?

wow. i just got mine last night and now this post?:) i love it, i love it, i love it. texting is indeed a happy experience. and learning to text with the qwerty keyboard is almost automatic. i was contemplating on getting my friends' palm treo (from france, so it has the azerty keybord) and i used it for a couple of days. i really thought i was happy, until i tried this. nokia is SO user friendly, nothing compares. and i love love that you could have a video ringtone:)

just this afternoon, my boss and i were trying to sync her nokia phonebook to her iPhone, and it was so hard i wanted to pull my hair out. her iphone's been with her for a month and she hasnt used it yet. i was choosing between he iphone and the e63. im glad i made the right choice:)

thanks for the quasi-go signal, c. you were instrumental in my decision making:)

wonderful!
where did your boss get the iPhone? maybe Globe or Nokia or Apple can help her? or Philmug?

from greenbelt1 daw. she's been to greenhills twice to have it jailbreak-ed (jailbroken) for the additional applications, etc. now she has to restore factory settings for it to be able to be read/synced with her itunes. which means everything installed will be erased. so byebye P2k.

OMG, i just transferred my entire phonebook (well, my phone crashed, so what's left of it nalang) using bluetooth. menu-tools-switch. then with my other nokia's bluetooth on, i paired the two, grabbed contacts, and now it's in my e63. amazing. and right after i posted my first comment. and now im posting my next one.

so jurassic, i didnt know you could do that na pala. :)

greenbelt1 daw? she had it jailbreak-ed (jailbroken?) twice already, and itunes is asking her to restore to factory settings for her to be able to sync it again. so all new apps will be lost, including everything she has stored in the phone. so byebye P1,500 too. kase naman. just go itouch + phone. simple.

and amazing. menu>tools>switch>retrieve makes you"grab" your contacts, photos, calendar events, etc from your old nokia phone via bluetooth. it took me what, 5mins?, to get all my junk out of the old phone(6300), which crashed because it couldnt hold all my junk (as a friend would put it). i made sure i got from nokia's business series this time :)

I love my bb :)
Although I understand it's not for everyone, I--like everyone else who, otherwise, gets it--know why it's called crackberry ;)

What kind of bb do you use? (I want a bb myself. :D)

Hi! I have the Bold; it's best model bec has all features n is QWERTY ;)

Late na, but I just wanted to say I got an E63 last night. Haven't read the manual yet, but I loooove it :D
