And who the hell is Boyet Fajardo and why are we supposed to boycott him?

Have you heard of the Boyet Fajardo Scandal?
This blog opened only a few days ago and has only one entry so far. But it looks like the Duty Free employees are out to get him by posting a video on YouTube.
Well, I wasn't there but this fast-motion video shows a Duty Free employee kneeling for mercy and crying while an irate customer berates him in public.
Watch it—now na!!
Then read about the incident (which I edited for clarity—sorry, I couldn't help it!).

On September 1, 1980, Boyet Fajardo opened his first shop on Banaue street in Quezon City as a bid to join the big names in the made-to-order industry at 17 and a college sophomore (at UST, where he was majoring in Fine Arts). Boyet Fajardo believed that he had what it takes to make it in fashion alongside the more established names like Ben Farrales.
Today, Boyet is one of the biggest names in RTW. His Boyet Fajardo line is carried in all Robinsons stores—there are about 20 of them all over Metro Manila and in the provinces—and the Landmark. Since making the big shift from couture clothes to RTW Boyet Fajardo can truly be called a success. He has become both an artistic and financial success. In fact, he recently had his new office-cum-residence located in Valle Verde, officially blessed. The house, which has a large garden, is dotted with Boyet’s favorite antiques and paintings. He also recently bought a house in nearby Acropolis, which was blessed on Nov. 28, a blessing that was attended by many of Boyet’s longtime clients and friends. Source

He has truly come a long way...

Now read the eyewitness account on the scandal

Last March 13, 2009—or Friday the 13th—we went with our Tatay Rey (who just arrived from Abu Dhabi as OFW a day before) to Duty Free Philippines Fiesta Mall in Parañaque to shop and point. Or we point and he’ll buy…hehehe:)
While waiting in line at the cashiers to pay our goodies…we saw a customer at the top of his voice berating the cashiers and managers of Duty Free... From what my sister told me, it was about a credit card purchase that the cashier was kindly asking for the irate customer's ID to vouch for the legit owner of the credit card which was also “unsigned”—a normal operating procedure to avoid misuse.

He might have thought a celebrated person like he is with all his accolades and fame had gone unrecognized by this cashier person who was doing the job he was trained to do. Tsk tsk tsk…
While Store Managers and officers were sought to appease the matter, explaining to him that it is standard operating procedure in credit card safety, not only for the company but also his own.
Ignoring this, he pulled out his phone and threatened to call high positioned people whom he allegedly knew, to make these people realize how important he is.. he went on using words like “LECHE KAYO, DI NYO KO KILALA? AKO SI BOYET FAJARDO! AT ITONG P..I.. NA BABAENG ITO, (pointing to a lady officer) AT ANG BAKLANG ITO (pointing to the cashier) AY WALANG KWENTANG MGA TAO! I WANT THEM FIRED!!!

His yelling and berating went on and on, he could not calm down and went on to say, that only if the cashier would kneel down before him and/or allow him to freely slap the persons face, would he get satisfied.
AND, you know what happened next...the poor cashier simply gave in, crying in shame. He knelt down and apologized before this self proclaimed GOD….

i agree, he is an *sshole.
and i'm telling my mom to boycot his clothes.

Baka first time gumamit ng credit card ni Ate Boyet F. Hihihi. xDDD

what an idiot
he should be put in his proper place
he is not above anyone
it just goes to show that no amount of money, power, or education can change a person who is innately uncivilized

DIVA!!!!! but i don't think people who read your blog patronize his "fashion" anyway he he

he's not even a household name and yet he acts that way, how scary would it be if he attains the status of .....hmmm

i don't think people who read your blog patronize his "fashion" anyway

exactly! i just thought the YouTube was "interesting". Otherwise I wouldn't have posted it was i have never heard of him

Edited at 2009-03-19 02:14 pm (UTC)

this is purely power tripping! grabe..d na naawa sa cashier who was just doing his job.

is he the big guy in the video? i think his houses were featured on UZ before...

oh well, money can't buy class.

what is up with those people who think they own the world merely because they're rich?! who cares! this reminds me of the story i read in daphne's blog.

hmmm....maka-karma din syah! tutal his name is not even nice. just imagine in movie premiere, "who are you wearing?" ..."i'm wearing boyet fajardo" ...ngee, parang bakya

OH MY GOD! What an ASS! I saw him on UZ, the only reason I knew his name. Even then, I thought he was very mayabang. I want to sampal him kaya. I feel so bad for the cashier!

nakakainis sya! akala nya kung sino sya.

WTH?! Did he actually slap the guy who knelt in front of him? Seeing the guy kneeling is already heartbreaking, tapos gaganunin niya pa? Sobrang nakakaawa the employee. Stupid naman ng supervisors not to defend their staff, sobra na yun. Feeling ba ng bading na yan nasa soap opera siya? Sa pinoy tv drama shows lang ako nakakakita ng ganyan.

At teka, sino ba sya?! Mahaderang bakla!

sabi passport daw.asko ko din sa iyo, knws mo ba siya.now ko lang heard name nya,

the video's no longer up.

his behavior is sickening.

I wonder how he treats his staff at his bonggang-bonggang Valle Verde home-cum-office with a garden! :D

video is there. try again

I played the video twice and sobra, you can see how kawawa the crying cashier is :( hope this does not happen to anybody, it's traumatizing!

grabe naman...e pano pa kung people from his company ang magkamali? will he do the same? tsk tsk...

i know. the stories they can tell!

i can just imagine how the guy must've felt like after. mapapamura ka talaga, tapakan ba naman dignity mo ng ganun-ganun lang. bwiset!

nako, lesson learned to for all of us: wag paaapi sa walang karapatang mang-api, which is to say, wag magpaapi KAHIT KANINO.

ay kadire what a douchebag

sana nagpasampal na lang siya kesa lumuhod tapos kasuhan niya. bwiset.

to think hindi naman siya kilala. ang feeling.

just his luck na nakuha ng surveillance camera yung incident. kawawa naman yung staff. suki ako ng duty free and talagang hinihingi ang id, nothing wrong with that.

scary naman yung mowdel niya, mas pogi pa si travis kraft. did i just say that? hahaha...

i can't believe this! my heart breaks for the bagger who knelt down as well as for the cashier. what made this fajardo believe that decent people who are working for decent money should bow down to him? nakakasuka ang taong ito!

imagine wearing "haute couture" with the name boyet on it. yun pa lang karma na

HA HA HA, you are so right, karma talaga wearing a UNIFORM labeled "BOYET FAJARDO"

1st of all, the dude's name is BOYET. Unless may de Leon na nakakabit sa pangalan niya, walang ka-class class! Couture kunyari!

2nd of all, the poor employee should sue him for harassment and public humiliation. Not that I have full faith in the justice system working, but there's always a first time.

3rd, sa panaginip lang nya ata sya alongside the likes of Ben Farrales.

In closing, what an ass.

>Unless may de Leon na nakakabit sa pangalan niya, walang ka-class class!

boyet fajardo is a uniform maker.

you know those worn by "high-positioned people".

government workers??

He's not even a popular designer and yet he acts like an ass.
He just ruined his own name with this thing he pulled and people should indeed stop buying his products.

BTW he CANNOT be COUTURE if he has no license. He's just a wanna-be.

lol. i like your avatar
