For The First Time, was not cheesy, not memorable, and will not be a classic like her parents' first two team-ups.

You can't help but compare her to Sharon Cuneta. She has her Sharon moments where she looks and sounds just like her mom, and she has her Gabby moments where she, uh, never mind...
In her blog, Jessica Zafra summed it up like this:
Feta Cheese-Off
By Jessica Zafra
KC Concepcion is pretty.
Richard Gutierrez is pretty.
Greece is pretty.
The Richard Prince bag is pretty.
Then the movie has a nervous breakdown, and everything goes to hell. The light romantic comedy suddenly turns into heavy melodrama. Richard makes corny speeches about love that would make greeting cards kill themselves for shame. KC weeps and weeps as if she’s just realized what sort of movie she’s in. Whatever charm the movie had is drowned in mush. The theme song blares incessantly to remind you to buy the ringtone. Philip Salvador is kidnapped by aliens and replaced with a ham and cheese sandwich.
The rest is here.
* * *
Last night Grace and I dragged each other to watch at Robinson's Galleria at 7:10 pm. The cinema was about 20% full.
I don't know who wrote the screenplay, but none of the characters were endearing.
A rich corporate girl (KC) falls in love with a guy who is not cute and has no redeeming qualities (Richard Gutierrez), so no kilig factor.
Her father (Philip Salvador) treats her like unbelievable crap.
Can not stand that side story of Candy Pangilinan and her penpal in Greece.
The movie was supposedly shot in Greece, but one wonders about the Samsung refrigerator in the kitchen. Let's not forget the "convenient" product placements such as KC opening her kikay kit to reveal Garnier toiletries, the part where she takes pictures using her Sony Cybershot, etc...
The "love" story goes nowhere. No chemistry between Richard and KC and the movie ends in the strangest way.

What struck me the most were:
1) How KC's boobs were all over the place. Shocking, considering her mom wore jeans to the beach in her movies.

2) How ashen everyone was, like they had mega doses of glutathione.
Too bad for KC. She should've done a remake of Dear Heart but not with Richard
Gutierrez. Geoff Eigenmann, who appears in a cameo role, was even cuter.
Anyway, the question is, have you MET?

and can we just mention how "offensive" and corny the script was? it was part autobiographical(as seen in "diego" aka rico blanco) and part political commentary(seth alexander villaraza, nuff said).
everybody warned me about how bad it was, i just didn't expect it to be this bad. i am first to admit that i loved dear heart and thought kc could pull off a dear heart. BUT NO. a very special love nalang sana pinanood natin! :p

The Sony bit was forgiveable, at least it was called for. But the Garnier was too in-your-face. No subtlety at all. Why show a bagful of products when one container could send the same message?

i cannot understand talaga for the first time. it's so heavy! this movie is all hype. i wanna kill the person who wrote the script. when me and my workm8s watched nung second day, wala nang pila and super konti na lang ang tao. the word got around siguro na pangit yung film.
