Sea of Shoes

While we're all patiently waiting for September 1st—also known as the return of Gossip Girl, Season 2—I've been following this blog called Sea of Shoes, about a real-life rich, fasyon family obsessed with not your ordinary chica shoes.

The mom has tons of amazing designer clothes which her teen daughter appreciates at such a young age. We're taking Comme des Garçons and Martin Margiela.
I love it when rich people invest in fashion made by real créateurs.

Does the mom remind you of Lily?

Lily van der Woodsen
future-mrs-bass

vs.

"Mom wears her Chloe boots with Levi's jeans and American Apparel shirt."
Sea of shoes

"My mom is fanning out her Carolina Herrera skirt in a fairly ridiculous way-she wears it with a Banana Republic cardigan, thrifted jewelry, her Omega Seamaster watch, and ombre Prada peep toes."
Sea of shoes

Compare Serena with the daughter:

Serena van der Woodsen
second-fiddle

vs.

Daughter in "the aforementioned Dries van Noten skirt handed down to me by my mom, Marni shoes, the sweatshirt."
Sea of shoes

and a "shirt from J. Crew, vintage Levi's 501s, Banana Republic belt, Prada shoes."

I think daughter is more chica than Serena, no contest.

Chica nga! I'd love to raid their closets!!

im an instant fan! i love the mum and their home. and how they mix top labels with high street and market finds. very chic indeed. down to the type of dog they have. i love it.

oh, and thanks for sharing the link =D

i've actually been following jane's blog eversince. she's had the much-coveted martin margiela boots way before ms. chuvaness posted it.
also a good read: http://childhoodflames.blogspot.com/ -- owned by camille, who's a year younger than jane, but equally creative and fashionable. she didn't have that much shoes as jane, but a good read nonetheless.

Nakakainis. Inggit ako. This is my new StyleBytes.net! Thank you for the link!!

Funny because the sister looks like Blair

I like her sister, Carol, better. Reminds me of Blair. :)

at least not as young as the 12-y-o blogger, fashion rookie. they start so young!

i found about her through gala's weekly carousel...links galore...
