You understand, back in the day we had no Internet, no texting, no Facebook, no DVDs, and no Wii.
We were too young to go to the disco.
We did have our Tintin books, Atari, Betamax, Shoppesville and Hyatt Terraces Baguio.
We had Walkman, radio cassette and CB radio. We requested songs on the radio.
Best of all, we had TV.
In those days we literally had five channels: 2, 4, 7, 9 and 13.
4 was a government propaganda channel (read: Marcos era), whilst 2, 9 and 13 were crap.
Channel 7, however, was It.
They had Charlie's Angels, Donny & Marie, Love Boat, Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew, Soap, Three's Company, and on Sunday nights, there was Penthouse 7.
If today you have the Gucci Gang, in those days, we had the Penthouse Gang!
Eva Abesamis was so chica!!
I had such a crush on Pipo Liboro.
Mike Monserrat was too hot for words.
Archie Lacson was the oddball dork, sorry!! He just looks like he's supposed to be a banker, not a dancer. (No offence to bankers)
I love this song.
My friend Jude and I love to reminisce such cheesy things at night. I almost fainted when I saw this poster in Greenhills this afternoon.
Holy flashback! I know exactly one person who would come with me to this event—it's Jude, and possibly Tito Uichico. I don't know if I could drag Jeroen into this. But too bad it's on my birthday. I have dinner with the fam.
In any case, I'm too cheap to pay 2000 pesos. I would be disappointed if they actually wore the clothes on the poster.
One last video. Bear with me.
