We love working with Japanese. They are modern, innovative, professional, efficient and all the wonderful things you thought about them.

For our first store in Rockwell we hired the official Suntory space designers, MYU Planning & Operators.
While our project coordinator in Manila is Kimachi Takatoshi of Kuni Philippines (L) shown with Hiro (also of Kuni) and Jeroen of Pepper Lunch.

Ok, their office in Makati is just awesome.

The seats looks super comfy..It does look like The Sims lol
can't wait for Pepper Lunch to open!

the guy to the left looks chica (hope you don't mind, i've adopted your word) :)

the resto looks big, how exciting!
like the design, doesn't look like cheap fast food. it reminds me of a resto/cafeteria here. i forget the name but it's in downtown DC. basically you get your order when the device they give you vibrates, then you can either sit in the lounge area near the bar or the 2nd area where you're surrounded with herbs, it's really cool.

Good Luck!

i love that vibrate device. experienced it in Houston.

P.S. Kimachi-san always looks hip

ooh nice venture. cute computer rendering, it's funny how it has a little bit of that "crowded little japanese restaurant feel".

good luck! will eat there when I get back

oh that's only a rendering. The actual space is almost 200 square meters big :)
hope to meet you in person

gads...hungry for meat at 6:19 ayem!

my tummy's growling - major...this is a problem... gotta have a steak fix and where to devour one in the next hour? gads.. this IS a problem... can't wait for your restaurant to open!

I live in Japan and Pepper Lunch is one of my faves.
It is fantastic how other countries improve on the original. I remember going to a Yoshinoya branch in HK with better food and more modern design.
Can't wait to go to Rockwell.

There's Yoshinoya here. It looks very fast food. I love gyudon in Japan but wasn't too crazy about this one. I wonder if Yoshinoya tastes better abroad?

Re: Pepper Lunch, they reformatted the design to adapt to global franchising. Pepper Lunch in Rockwell is the newest design and cozier that the one you'll find currently in Singapore, HK, Bangkok. We're very excited.

Am waiting for the opening

I love to eat.
Love meat.Love mustard.
Both of them in Pepper Lunch.
I am waiting Ms.Cecile.
Good you chose the official Suntory designers for your first store, aside from aesthetic considerations, the Japanese will make sure the exhaust system in your resto will be efficient and sufficient.

that is one of the things Jeroen insisted on. Singapore will be providing that supplier.
so you can still have your dates here.

eyelovit!!!! :-) can't wait!

japanese are really nice to work with. tqm & six sigma actually originated from their kaizen philosophy hehehe :-)

what are those?

Cant wait.. Im a steak lover! (:

Hi chuvaness,
ive been a fan of your blog for a few months now. i was wondering, did you recommend a hotel in singapore on your past entries? ive tried looking for it, but couldnt find one. i dont know if i just missed it or if i just got confused with other hotels youve written about.
wanted to know of a good place to stay in coz im planning a vacation next month.
i know my comments really out of topic, but would really appreciate any recommendation coming from you. thanks so much. my email's mon1mon2002@yahoo.com.
keep up the great work!

sincerely,
monica ley

Meritus Mandarin is the best location for us. Good prices too.

and home to notoriously over-price but just as lovely chicken rice

Looks impressive, will definitely check it out when I visit Manila.
Are you going to serve Wagyu beef at Pepper Lunch?

cool!! we can handle it!

I love pepper lunch! the facade looks a little like the one in Wistma Atria in Singapore? I'm so glad you've brought pepper lunch to Manila, can't wait to eat there! when is the opening? :) ..On another note, I read your entry about your cousin's cancer, that's the real reason I posted here. My sister was diagnosed with a stage 4 in 1996 and survived. I'd like to share that with you if you want to hear about it :) Pls let me know where I can email you? My thoughts and prayers go out to your cousin and your family. God Bless :)

please share: chuvaness@livejournal.com

thanks.

will you source your meats, poultry and seafood from them? i hope you do, for authenticity.

also, will you carry baskin and robbins ice cream too?

can't wait for you guys to open.

btw, is it okay for me to post your designs in my page, with links to your site and with proper credit?

thanks

hi miss c. i fell in love with pepper lunch during my first trip to japan. thanks for bringing it here. ^^
and i must say this one is looking ten times better than all the other branches i've visited. i hope the exhaust system is adequate though, because from experience people can always tell i just visited pepper lunch because i reek of smoke the entire day.
by the way, are you going to have those vendo-type things to order from? i always thought they were kind of neat (because i don't have to talk to the cashier).

no, the vending machines are only in Japan because labor cost is high. It's still better to talk to a real person I think.

Can't wait for Pepper Lunch!!!!

My hubby and I had lunch at Rockwell. His first question as we entered was, " Has Pepper Lunch opened?".
Although I knew that it hasn't, we checked your spot just be sure. Malay mo.

We were quite sad to see it still closed. :(

Will surely line up when Pepper Lunch opens.

PS. After reading your blog daily for the last x number of months, I finally posted a comment. Pepper lunch lang pala katapat to overcome the shyness.
PS again. Will say a special prayer for your cousin Chelo.
Last PS. Thanks for bag maker referral. :-)

thank you for your prayers.
