This logo gives the warm fuzzies as it reminds me of my late grandfather, Emilio Galang.
We called it Munsingwear and recognized it by its original penguin logo
My grandfather, an avid golfer back in the day, used to wear them a lot. A former Commissioner of Immigration, his portrait still hangs at the Bureau of Immigration in Intramuros, where he used to hold office.
Started in 1955 as line of golf shirts, it was sported by gold legends Jack Nicklaus (R)
and even Arnold Palmer (in white) before his name also became a brand of sportswear.
It was worn by Clint Eastwood in the ’70s
In 1995 it was relaunched as Original Penguin and has since been spotted on Brad Pitt
Darren Criss of Glee
and Niall Horan Of One Direction.
